Strawberry Honey Butter
Ingredients:
- ½ cup (115 g) local butter, softened
- ½ cup (75 g) fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) honey
- ¼ tsp (1 g) salt
- 1 tsp (5 mL) lemon zest (optional, for brightness)
Directions:
- Prep the Strawberries: Finely chop strawberries and lightly mash with a fork to release some of their juices.
- Whip the Butter: In a bowl, beat softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Mix Everything Together: Add strawberries, honey, salt and lemon zest (if using). Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Chill or Serve: Serve immediately for a soft, spreadable texture or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up slightly.
