Homegrown Business: Jennifer Antonio of Dragonfly Branding

In the heart of Winnipeg, Jennifer Antonio is helping businesses move beyond surface-level marketing to build brands with real impact. As the Founder and Creative Lead of Dragonfly Branding, she brings together strategy, psychology, and design to create brand systems that not only look refined but drive meaningful growth.

Working with clients across Canada—from educational institutions to trades and creative entrepreneurs—Jennifer focuses on solving a common challenge: businesses investing in marketing without a clear brand foundation. Through a tailored, strategic approach, Dragonfly Branding helps organizations gain clarity, build trust, and show up with confidence in every aspect of their business.

For Jennifer, the work is about more than aesthetics—it’s about shaping perception, strengthening credibility, and helping businesses fully step into who they are meant to be.

What is your business called and what does it do?

Dragonfly Branding is a strategic branding and marketing agency that helps businesses stand out, attract the right audience, and grow.

We combine psychology, strategy, and visual design to create brand systems that not only look elevated but also drive real business results.

What made you want to do this work?

I’ve always been drawn to creativity, but growing up, that side of me wasn’t always encouraged. There was a strong push toward more traditional paths, which made it difficult to fully lean into what I was naturally good at.

That shifted when I started working in the sign industry. It was the first time I saw how ideas could be executed at a high level and how much impact visual presence actually has on a business. I wasn’t just designing, I was helping bring real, physical brand experiences to life.

That experience changed everything. It showed me that branding isn’t just about making something look good; it’s about shaping perception, building credibility, and creating something people remember.

From that point on, I knew I wanted to build brands that feel intentional, high quality, and aligned with where a business is going, not just where it is today.

What problem did you want to solve with the business?

Many businesses rely on piecing things as a DIY project themselves, or jumping straight into marketing like paid ads, without a clear brand foundation.

The problem is that without clarity, messaging and visuals become inconsistent, and growth stalls.

If your brand isn’t clear, it creates sales friction — confusion, hesitation, and lost opportunities.

Dragonfly Branding helps businesses move from confusion to clarity by building a compelling brand foundation that supports every part of their marketing and sales strategy.

Who are your clientele/demographics?

We primarily work with B2B businesses and service-based companies, including:

– Colleges and educational institutions
– Trades and service providers
– Indigenous organizations
– Cleaning and facility companies
– Creative businesses like photographers

Our clients are typically established, looking to elevate their brand and grow their business with more intention. However, we also work with new businesses building their brand from scratch.

How does your business make money? How does it work?

We offer a range of customized services, curated specifically for their business, including:

– Full branding identity systems
– Website design and development
– Social Media strategy and content creation
– SEO Management
– Blog and newsletter content

Most projects begin with developing a brand foundation for their business, then progress into proactive and ongoing visibility and marketing support.

Where in the city can we find your profession?

We are based in central Winnipeg and work with clients locally and across Canada through a fully remote process.

What is the best question a prospective customer could ask a member of your profession when comparing services? Give the answer as well.

“Are you building a brand, or just creating marketing materials?”

What’s the difference between Branding and Marketing, and the benefits of each?

There’s a big difference.

Marketing brings attention, but branding determines how people perceive, trust, and remember your business.

If your brand isn’t clear, even the best marketing won’t convert. A strong brand creates consistency, confidence, and long-term growth across every platform.

What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?

Best part: Helping a business fully step into its identity. When everything aligns, messaging, visuals, and strategy, you can see the confidence shift immediately.

Worst part: Seeing how many businesses struggle or waste time and money because they skipped the foundational work. It often means undoing what’s already been done before moving forward.

What is your favourite joke about your own profession?

“We’ll just make the logo bigger.”

(It’s the classic solution everyone thinks will fix everything.)

PAY IT FORWARD: What is another local business that you love?

One local business I really admire is Paterson’s Pro Wash. They do great work and consistently show up with professionalism and attention to detail, which is something I really respect.
