“A Day in the Life” with: Visual Artist Marc Kuegle

Marc Kuegle is someone who moves through the world with curiosity first and intention second. Whether he’s walking through a quiet street in Winnipeg or navigating a new city across the globe, he notices things most people pass by. That attention to detail shows up in his work, where moments feel both familiar and slightly reimagined, like memories you’re not sure you lived or dreamed.

What stands out most about Marc is how much he values connection. He brings people together through his art, his events, and his willingness to collaborate. He’s the kind of person who will hype up others just as much as his own work, and genuinely believes everyone has something worth sharing.

He’s also someone who doesn’t wait around for opportunities. If something doesn’t exist, he’ll build it. From organizing shows to creating new projects, he puts in the work and figures things out along the way.

At his core, Marc is grounded, thoughtful, and driven by purpose. His work reflects where he’s been, but more importantly, it invites others to see where they could go too.

Which ’hood are you in?

I’ve been living in Osborne Village in Winnipeg, MB for the past little while. Although I’ve lived abroad on and off for many years, Winnipeg is where I grew up and will always be home base.

What do you do?

I’m a digital artist and photographer, and a lot of my work comes from travelling and experiencing new places. I create digital collages using images I’ve taken over the years, reworking them into vibrant and often serene pieces. Most of my inspiration comes from being out in the world, meeting people, and seeing different cultures and environments. I’m big into stickers too, so if you’re out exploring the world, keep an eye out for my stickers!

Over the past few years, my art has taken me to some amazing places. I’ve spent time in Miami during Art Basel, had a solo show in Bangkok in 2023, and was part of a digital exhibition featured in Times Square in 2025. Those experiences have really shaped how I approach my work and continue to push me creatively.

At the end of the day, I’m just trying to create work that reflects the places I’ve been and the moments that stick with me, and hopefully share that sense of exploration with others.

What are you currently working on?

Right now, I’m working towards a new solo show. I was in Mexico City this past summer doing an Artist Residency with Casa Lienzo / Hashtag Gallery. I was there for just over a month exploring the city and creating. I showed three pieces in the group show, and since then, I’ve been building on that work. I’m aiming to create a full body of work, around 20 to 25 pieces, from my time there.

Where can we find your work?

You can find my work on my website or on Instagram.

I also have a photography show currently up at Shorty’s Pizza in Winnipeg, 55 Maryland St. I did a beer label colab for the show opening, which has always been on my list of things to do! Unfortunately, they’re all gone now, but go grab a slice and check out the show.
