“A Day in the Life” with: Visual Artist Anna Antonio

To know Anna Antonio is to understand the nature of her work. She is a kind, gentle and elegant soul whose artistry exemplifies all that is lovely.

Anna is drawn to the elegance of handwritten script, art in the Victorian era, and vintage textures. Inspired by nature and the history and beauty of the past, Anna thoughtfully incorporates floral elements, dainty designs and a feminine elegance, creating art that is evocative of a simpler time.

Her evolution as an artist began with a keen interest in sketching and drawing when she was younger. Her evolving tastes eventually led her to other forms of artistry, including pointed pen calligraphy. And now Anna’s talents and passions have converged, leading to the creation of unique pieces of art that you can proudly showcase in your home or incorporate into life’s special events.

Anna creates delicate paintings, custom wooden signs and trays, wedding-themed signs, invitations, envelopes and seating charts. In the last ten years, she has created hundreds of wooden décor and wedding signs, place cards, seating charts and envelopes for clients, become a brand ambassador/content creator for different art supply/stationery companies, and is frequently commissioned by different organizations to write on award and graduation certificates. In addition, she now teaches calligraphy workshops in her home studio.

Anna’s hope is that in this digital age of AI creation, recipients of her art appreciate the time, effort and skill it took to create a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece for them.

You can find Anna and the vast array of her artwork displayed on her Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Something about this view toward Bunn’s Creek Trail just settles my mind and sparks my inspiration. I am grateful every day to call this place home.

Welcome to my home studio! This is the place where I make all my art and teach my amazing students.
A handful of my sketches and watercolour pieces, inspired by florals, gentle colours and my feminine aesthetic.
I love sharing my passion and knowledge of calligraphy to anyone who is interested and willing to learn. One of my greatest joys is welcoming students into an encouraging and inspiring space I curate for each class.
This was a personal project that turned into one of my most meaningful creations, a small tribute to my Filipino heritage.
This piece, a powerful symbol of resilience and of the endometriosis community, was created during my own struggle with the disease. I share it as part of my advocacy for awareness and better care.

One of my favourite parts of calligraphy — creating pieces that become part of someone’s most meaningful moments.
