Joe H Henry is a Métis Singer-Songwriter from Manitoba, based in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, whose sound blends influences of early rhythm and blues, soul, and country roots, with the lyrical depth of folk, highlighted by his stunningly powerful and expressive vocals.
Known for his thoughtful lyrics, signature storytelling, and innate ability to connect with audiences from all walks of life, Henry’s well of inspiration runs deep with experiences from a homeless train-hopping youth to a homesteading father of five, and you can feel it in every line he sings.
Named “One of the brightest new lights on the East Coast music scene” (Troy Greencorn – Executive Director, Stanfest/DeCoste Performing Arts Centre) Henry released his debut EP “Keep the Fire Burning” in Summer 2023, and has quickly become a name to watch with award nominations for 2024 Blues Recording of the Year (ECMA) and 2024 Americana Recording of the Year (Nova Scotia Music awards), as well as nominations for Indigenous Artist of the Year
