Sophie is a foodie, travel, and lifestyle content creator, although some people also know her as Vivian, the yoga instructor. Having two names may seem a little unusual, but to her, it is the perfect representation of who she is. She first started her channel @so.phie.foodie_wpg in 2022 and has since grown her community to 2.7 thousand followers.
Sophie embodies her outgoing, adventurous side: exploring new destinations, discovering hidden food gems, and sharing life’s experiences. Vivian reflects her calmer side as a yoga instructor and sound bath practitioner who is dedicated to wellness, mindfulness, and personal growth.
At her core, she believes life is meant to be explored. Whether through travel, food, wellness, or meaningful experiences. We spoke with Sophie aka Vivian to learn more.

What is your channel called and what is it about?
I have two channels.
@so.phie.foodie_wpg – It is a food, lifestyle, and travel blog with a strong focus on Winnipeg. I also share travel ideas and recommendations to inspire people to explore destinations around the world.
@soulspace_vivian – This is the zen side of me: a wellness-focused page dedicated to helping women reduce stress and anxiety through yoga and sound bath healing.
When did you start it? What motivated you at the beginning?
For Sophie, I started the channel in 2022. At the time, I was questioning the purpose of life beyond working a 9-to-5 job. I realized I could create a page focused on food and travel, share my experiences with others, and inspire people to explore and appreciate Winnipeg.
For Soulspace, I started in 2023, the same year I became a certified 200-hour yoga instructor.
Who were you inspired by? Any influences?
Definitely Hungryinpg, Peggrammer from Winnipeg and Magaroundtheglobe, Tina Lee, the digital nomad
How would you describe your audience?
Local Winnipeggers, as well as people who are new to Winnipeg and are looking for food and travel recommendations.
What is your creative process? Do you have people who work with you?
My creative process is driven by curiosity, exploration, and a desire to continuously learn from others.
How do you monetize your content? Do you also have another job?
I dedicate approximately 6–7 hours per week to Sophie and another 6 hours to Soulspace. This helps me manage my schedule, protect my mental health, and avoid overworking.
In addition to content creation, I work as a yoga instructor and a matcha barista.

What is your favourite piece of content you have created?
Introducing the new Hansang Menu from Tring5, a Korean woman-owned restaurant in Winnipeg. The food was excellent, and the owner was super welcoming, that’s my motivative when it comes to video editing, and I truly want people to know this place.
What is the best part about what you do? What is the worst part?
The best part is receiving invitations to different events and restaurants. It has given me a new perspective on Winnipeg and helped me appreciate the city’s diversity. Having followers who support my work is also incredibly rewarding.
The most challenging part is finding balance—both with food and with my mental health. As a content creator, it is natural to attend events, socialize, and build relationships, but social interactions can drain my energy quickly.
When restaurants provide complimentary meals, I initially found it difficult to manage my food intake. Over time, I realized that if I want this work to be sustainable, I need to set healthy boundaries around how much I take on, both in terms of food and commitments, while also leaving enough time to create quality content.
I’ve learned that saying “yes” to everything can eventually put you in an uncomfortable position, so setting boundaries has become an important part of my journey.
What are your future plans for your channel?
I plan to travel more in the future, so my goal is to expand my content beyond Winnipeg by sharing more travel and lifestyle experiences while continuing to incorporate wellness into my brand.
Where can we follow you?
