“A Day in the Life” with: Visual Artist Eugene Kabrun

For the last 8 years that Eugene Kabrun has been part of the Manitoba art community, he has shared his art in plenty of galleries in and around Winnipeg – and beyond. Since his childhood in Kyiv, Eugene’s love for art has only deepened over time. Working as a truck driver has inspired many of his paintings – from landscapes to cityscapes, to still-lifes. His works reflect a rich inner world shaped by travel, memory, and place. Eugene works primarily in fine art, with a special touch to his paintings that makes them come to life through 3D mixed media techniques. Eugene Kabrun has earned features in several publications in Winnipeg, including CityNews Winnipeg. Despite the busy life on the road, Eugene is deeply committed to his art and the local art scene – participating in exhibitions and painting beautiful works of art.

Which ’hood are you in?

Currently, I reside in Lundar, Manitoba – a small rural town around an hour north of Winnipeg. I exhibit my artworks in Winnipeg and surrounding communities.

What do you do?

I work as a Truck driver as well as an artist – my road trips help inspire my artistic spirit! Outside of that, I enjoy training at my local gym when I come back from my trips.

When I am at home, I enjoy spending the night playing guitar – and spending time with my Wife and my Great Pyrenees, Castiel!

What are you currently working on?

I’m always painting! Whether it be landscape, portrait, still-life, or city-scapes.

Where can we find your work?
